ABOVE TRIBUNE BAY
Our home sits among firs and arbutus trees, high on the bluff overlooking legendary Tribune Bay
It is a few minutes walk to spectacular Helliwell Park and
a quick car or bike ride down to the wide sandy beach and swimming waters of
Tribune Bay.
Floor to ceiling windows allow for full appreciation of the location, with the
forest behind and the ocean in front.
Watch eagles in our ancient arbutus trees. Deer often graze nearby. In summer, relax and dine on the large deck. In winter, cuddle up next to the wood stove.
The house has three queen-sized beds, one in the master bedroom on the main floor
and two in the spacious loft that overlooks the kitchen, dining and living room.
There is one bathroom on the main floor.
Our separate studio provides additional
sleeping space or is the perfect workspace for a writer or visual artist. Extended
stays for working sabbaticals can be arranged.
The kitchen is fully equipped
with fridge, cooktop and oven, plus a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and
grinder.
All linen and towels are supplied and there are full laundry facilities.
There
is also a telephone, a stereo system for CD and cassette, and a TV with a DVD/VHS
player.
A gas barbeque is located on the back deck.
Smoking and pets are not allowed in the home or on the property.
Because of
the high cliff, this is not a safe location for young children. However this is
a great place for adults or families with older children looking for a quiet get-away.
Saturday is the "best" day on Hornby with the farmers market,
movies, concerts and dances, so our weekly rental is Sunday 4pm to Sunday 11am.
