A BOUNTIFUL CLIFF-TOP RETREAT
Designed in 1998 by noted Blue Sky architect
Michael McNamara, this original dwelling is backed by forest
and looks across Georgia Strait at Vancouver Island's mountains.
We have one of Hornby Island's most peaceful yet breathtaking
views.
|
|
Our home has an arching sod roof, 14-foot ceilings and,
below, two intimate 20 X 12' living spaces and one 12' X
10' sleeping loft/study. A newly-built studio serves as
the second living space and private bedroom, with floor-to-ceiling
windows and a separate entrance. Sliding glass doors open
onto a wrap-around deck.
The main living space has a fully-equipped modern galley
kitchen and a full bathroom with an oversize tiled shower.
A stair-ladder leads to the loft. Easy-to-use futons in
each of the three spaces sleep up to six.

|
A stereo, DVD, VCR, internet connection and washer/dryer
are provided. Allergy-free pillows, linens and towels are
supplied.
|
|
A barbecue, table and recliners on a 48-foot deck encourage
outdoor dining and sunbathing -- with soaring eagles at
eye-level and deer browsing in the meadow below. Idyllic
privacy and peacefulness.

|
We are minutes away from three superb sand beaches, Helliwell
Park, hiking trails, tennis courts, excellent markets and
community events: festivals, concerts, movies, dances, jazz,
art and craft shows, pub, cafés, and restaurants.
