A classic "West Coast architecture" house - 2000 square feet spread over two stories. The main floor has spacious living areas, a full bathroom, (complete with a claw foot bathtub) and two bedrooms (the main bedroom with a queen bed, the second with a double and twin - snuggle up under your down comforter). Upstairs is another bathroom, a family room and three more bedrooms (two with a queen beds, one with kids bunk beds). Also there's lots of room in the yard for the kids to set up a tent. Ideal accommodation for two or more families.

The bright kitchen is well equipped including a stove, fridge, dishwasher, and a micro-wave. There is a satellite T.V. and DVD and a VCR. Movies are available for rent at the Co-op store or Ford Cove store. Local artworks are displayed throughout the house. If there's a chill in the air, cozy up in front of the woodstove and watch the fire through the glass door. Household linens are provided, bring your own beach towels. There is a washer and dryer for your use. A telephone is available for local calls. Maid service is provided weekly.

The house is totally private. A large deck crosses the front of the house, overlooking the garden and pond. Help yourself to the plums, apples, blueberries, raspberries, fresh herbs, huckleberries, blackberries or filbert nuts if you're here at harvest time. Sit in comfortable custom made adirondack chairs and listen to the birds sing. If you like outdoor entertaining, a Napoleon propane B.B.Q. is available.

Tall cedars, firs and maples grace the forested acreage. A path winds through the forest to the neighboring elementary school - with a ball diamond, soccer field, kids jungle gym, and outdoor basketball court. In the other direction, our path joins a network of paths and undeveloped road right-of-ways to Tribune Bay Provincial Park.

The front yard is fenced, there's an outdoor badminton court, horseshoe pitch, and forest to explore. The property is blessed with good water - there is a deep well, and storage reservoir - but as with other island land owners we do request you use our island water resources wisely, Hornby is designated as a "water conservation area".

On Hornby Island there aren't any poisonous snakes or insects, no predatory animals. You won't see any bears or cougars here. Our children play outside safely.
We enjoy our wild life by:

- viewing the whales when they swim past
- watching the deer peacefully graze in our yards
- or tracking the graceful eagles as they soar overhead
- (or going to the local Pub for a pint!)
