Job Title: Program facilitator

Job Location: Tribune Bay Provincial Park, Hornby Island, BC

Term of Position: Varies...April 23th (or earlier) -mid August (possible extensions to November)

Description of Duties: Program facilitators will be the main on-site liaisons with groups visiting the Centre. Duties include being a ‘concierge’ for the groups as well as delivering programs. Working with the Centre Manager and Senior Program Coordinator, Program Coordinators will ensure that program objectives are provided for; pursuing high educational quality, following risk management protocols and adding an ingredient of fun!

Programs Include: High and low ropes challenge courses, climbing/rappelling (on a tower), 12person adventure boat tour, hiking, ocean kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking, forest and intertidal environmental education, team building programs, educational games, arts/crafts, campfire programs and others.

Employment Requirements, Skills or Assets:

1) Related degree/diploma or current student in one of the programs

2) Up-to-date first aid/CPR certification

3) Extensive experience working with and leading children/youth programs.

4) Strong leadership, communication, flexibility, organization skills as well as a dependable team player.

5) Considerable personal experience in our program areas a requirement, course work and certification an asset.

6) Fluency in English and French, ASL, or Japanese, an asset.

7) A full-time student (for some specific grants) an asset but not a requirement.

Wage: $64. to $96./day. depending on experience (plus accommodation)

Hours: split shift, including evenings and occasional weekends

Benefits: Specific on-site training, some meals, on-site accommodation(shared) and utilities.
