Tribune Bay

Tribune Bay B&B is a very private, luxurious cottage on the cliffside, overlooking beautiful Tribune Bay on the Salish Sea. The cottage, designed and built by the famed Blue Sky Architecture team, features gorgeous fir detailing and expansive windows looking down on the ocean. It is snug during the winter months and yet during the warmer months, a cooling sea breeze keeps it at a pleasant temperature.
There are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size Murphy bed, ensuite bathroom, and a well equipped kitchenette. The second bedroom has a king size bed with an identical ensuite. There is no kitchenette in this room. The ensuites each have a heated slate floor, walk-in shower and skylight. The beds in both bedrooms are very comfortable and topped with 100% cotton sheets and goose down duvets. The cottage is rented out to just one group at a time to provide ultimate privacy. Breakfast is brought over to the cottage each morning, featuring local organic ingredients.

Between the bedrooms is a living room with a fireplace, iPod docking station, Wifi, reading area and glass sliding doors to a deck. The views from the cottage are spectacular.

You can lie in bed and see the water and hear the waves caress the shore below. Eagles often perch on a tree just outside the cottage and an owl makes appearances as well. Of course deer are plentiful, but are not warmly-received garden guests!

The deck overlooks the bay. You can enjoy the sunset while sipping a glass of wine, and you may see an eagle fly by at eye level. On the property there is a gas barbecue which guests are welcome to use.

Area Attractions

The cottage is situated on 3 acres of garden and forest, away from the noises of a city. Walk out the door and turn east, and you’re on a beautiful path to Helliwell Provincial Park. Turn west, and you’re headed to Tribune Bay Provincial Park beach, the most beautiful beach on the coast. While you enjoy your stay, you can use the bikes provided, or go for a ride in the row boat. Or — bring along your easel and paint in the garden, take photos of the island, read a book, have a nap, go to the many art studios, have a nap, sip wine on the deck, have a nap.
