Hornby Island is a community that likes to do-it-yourself. From building our own Health Clinic, Recycling Centre and 'Room-to-Grow' at the School, to providing our own arts and entertainment, we do it all! Here is a sampling of our many community organizations: Hornby Recycles!

HIRRA membership is open to all residents and property owners of the island. Meetings take place the 2nd Wednesday of every month at Hornby Island Community Hall. New Horizons Society
New Horizons promotes social, educational, creative and physical activities for members, who are in the 50+ age group.
