There is no such thing as an accidental tourist for Hornby Island. Tucked away between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia, it takes at least two ferries to get here. Herring Spawn 2012
A frenzy of birds and sea lions dine on the spawning herring just off Phipp’s Point. The area around Hornby is the site of the largest and most consistent herring spawn in British Columbia.
